Circle Journal - final Entry

I had the priveledge of doing a wonderful circle journal project organized by Michelle Tweedy. And while we all got off track on occasion, I'm so excited to say I have finished and mailed my final journal.

This last one I got was for recipes. For me, one of my all-time favorite treats from Maine is Whoopie Pies. I know I've written of them often on my blog...and they are such a wonderful treat I can't help myself! I also thought the title Making Whoopie would be fun to include!! :-)

I used some Berry Bliss paper to cover the pages after punching it with my spiral notebook punch. For the title side I layered Close to Cocoa on Pretty in Pink on Whisper white. I stamped the Making with Newsprint Alpha and Whoopie with my Jumbo Outline Alphabet both in Chocolate Chip ink, coloring the overlapped areas with a versamarker. I then added the grosgrain ribbon to the bottom. For the opposite page, I made a little pocket with some more Berry Bliss DSP, adding a close to cocoa button. Then, I tucked the recipe in the pocket, giving it a little tag first. It was pretty simple, but I'm quite happy with the result, and I hope Allison enjoys the recipe!

Thanks for checking in today. Hopefully we're getting settled into the house by now, and we've managed to get Julia registered for Kindergarten. This will be her 3rd year of it...altho her first at an American kindergarten! ;-) Have a wonderful day!

I finished it!

German Phrase of the Day: Nachste Woche fahren wir in Urlaub. = We're leaving on a vacation next week. Actually, we leave on Sunday...but you get the point!

I just finished my initial pages for my circle journal I'm doing with Michelle Tweedy, and I'm SO excited! Since we have friends arriving from California on Friday morning, my dh doesn't get home until SATURDAY morning, and then Sunday morning we leave for the Black Forest, I figured I needed to finish quickly so I can get it in the mail.

I've never done a circle journal before, but I'm really excited about this one. I think it will be loads of fun. Over the next 5 days I'll post all the pages I had to complete before mailing it...since I won't have time to stamp anything else because I'll be too busy trying to get the house clean before our guests arrive!!

This first one is my title page. The theme of my book is All Things Nature, and I used one of my all-time favorite nature sets for the title page. I'm also a little into butterflies lately since we have so many on our Butterfly Bush (thanks to everyone who helped identify it!!) Not sure if you can tell, but I outlines the butterfly wtih glue and added some dazzling diamonds so she would really sparkle.

You can probably see I have not done anything with the cover of my journal yet...I decided it would be safer to do that after the rest of the pages are completed and it's done with its tour of the US!! ;-)

Have a wonderful day everyone! Just 3 more sleeps til my catty gets here - and, oh yeah - guess my husband will be with it!! ;-)
