This week Kim has challenged us all to try something new. I didn't have anything on the back burner I'd been dying to try (and having been out of the blogosphere for the past 3+ weeks hasn't helped that) so I headed to the techniques section of SCS and found this fun one - Faux Sea Glass. I didn't have the exact supplies on hand, so I improvised a bit, but I'm quite happy with the result! Be sure to head over to the LaLa Land blog to see all of this week's amazing creations...and since Kim used Banjo Maya that will be on sale this week for 20% off!!
I used the ever adorable Beach LaLa this week, along with an old SFYTT from Jen DelMuro and some tropical dp from Stampin' Up! The faux sea glass tag is made from an old GinaK plastic tag that I inked up with some craft spots, then covered in UTE. After adding a few layers of UTE I still had some dimpling, so I didn't do the stream of water from the tutorial...I just went with it! I tied some linen thread through the hole and added the stamped sentiment to finish it off.
I hope you'll come play along with us this week. You could win a gift certificate to the boutique if you play along using La-La Land stamps...what a great incentive to play!

LLWWC44: White on White - a little late!
I'm home! The kids and I had a wonderful trip, and while we were sad to say goodbye to all our wonderful family back there, it was good to get home to dh, our own beds, our pets, and our friends here in California.
Since I didn't have internet (or a cord for my camera to download pictures with) I didn't get to post this card on Wednesday for the weekly LaLa challenge (bad me!!) However, I did finish the card, and it was even the wedding card for my cousin whose wedding we were rushing out to catch. Jane challenged us to create a white on white card in honor of "June Brides" so this was perfect!
I used Princess LaLa and just colored her to be a bride. Isn't she adorable?? Now since Jane used Happy Maya for her card, she is 20% off, and you still have a couple of days to catch her on sale, so head over to the LaLa Land blog to see all the amazing white creations, then head to the boutique! Happy Monday everyone!

LLWWC42: Feeling Blue
This week's challenge is coming from Lisa to make a card using Blue as the main color. I love blue, and it's perfect with our fun new summer stamps - blue skies, blue oceans, blue eyes!! Lisa created her card with Garden Rosie, so she'll be 20% off for the next week! WOOHOO!!l
For my card I chose Beach LaLa. I love her little pail and ball, she was so much fun to color!! I added some MME cloud paper for the sky and creamy caramel torn paper for the sandy dunes that LaLa is playing on. And I just LOVE this sentiment!
We'd love to have you play along. Go link up your blue card at the LaLa Land Crafts blog, and if it features an LLLC stamp, you could win a gift certificate to our store for even MORE LaLa land stamps!! Good luck, and happy crafting!

La-La is all Flowers!
For this week's La-La's Weekly Wednesday Challenge, Kim challenged us all to make a flower for our cards. I've been on a flower making binge lately, so this was right up my alley. We'd love for you to play along with us...be sure to link up your cards featuring La-La Land Crafts images on the LaLa blog for your chance to win a $10 gift certificate to the store.
I love this little Fairy La-La, and it was so much fun to color her hair all pink! I used some scraps from the package Susie Lyles (her husband is battling cancer right now so go leave her some love!) for my dsp. La-La is stamped on an MFT Perfect panel, and layered on Perfect Plum (same as the card base!) My flower is made from a Pottery Barn catalog, and the fun crystal swirls are some I picked up at CHA. The layout is CPS159.
Be sure to check out the creations of the LaLa Land Crafts design team for some more inspiring flowers! And remember since Kim used Porsha for her creation - it's available at a 20% discount all week in the La-La Land Crafts store - so go pick her up today!!

La-La Land goes Green!
This week's La-La Land Crafts challenge comes from Elena Joldersma who wanted us to Go Green for St. Patrick's Day! Now, that doesn't mean make a card with the color green, but to use something recycled ON your project. That could be bubblewrap to make a background, an old cereal box as chipboard, or an old book (as I have done) to make those trendy flowers! And, since Elena is using Pirate LaLa for her card this week, it will be 20% off in the La-La Land Crafts store all week!
For my card, I used the adorable Easter Bunny digi stamp. I love this image so much, and the first time I saw it I immediately thought of one of my childhood favorite books, The Country Bunny and the Little Golden Shoes. It's the original Working Mother story book, written in the 1940's!! So, I had to color my little bunny to look just like the Country Bunny.
I used Jen Del Muro's SFYTT from this weekend for my layout, along with some Sweet Pea papers from SU! and my flower made from an old book. I sponged a little pink ink on the punched flowers and used a pretty in pink corduroy button for the center.
We'd love for you to play along...head on over to the La-La Land Crafts blog to link up your creation and a shot at a gift certificate to the La-La Land Crafts store - just be sure to use one of our stamps (rubber or digi!) to be eligible for the prize!

La-La Land Crafts is going soft
This week's La-La Land Craft's Challenge comes to us from Maureen, and she wants us to create a spring card all in Pastels! We're changing up the challenges a little, and encourage everyone one to play along, but in order to be elligible for the prize of $10 to spend in the La-La Land Craft's store you must feature a La-La Land image in your project. That's much easier now that we have several new digital images, and to help you out Easter Bunny Rosie (the image Maureen is using this week!) is on special all week for 20% off (making it ONLY $3.40!!!)
For my card this week, I chose to use the La-La with Rose image. I love her short and sassy hair in this image, and it's perfect since my little Julia just cut her hair on Monday and she looks a little like this with her cute blond hair and blue eyes! I used this week's Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge sketch for my layout, don't you love that luscious silk ribbon??
I also knew I really wanted to paper piece this image and give her a cute print dress. This has been one of the biggest hurdles to me really getting into digital images...I love to paper piece! But how do you paper piece a printed digital image? That's why I thought I'd do a quick little tutorial on just that! Watch for that later today!
Be sure to check out all the loveliness created by the rest of the La-La Land Crafts team today - they are sure to knock your socks off! Then make your own pastel masterpiece and link it up on the La-La Land Crafts blog.

La-La Land Crafts Spring Release Blog Hop
Welcome to the La-La Land Crafts SPRING Release Blog Hop! I'm so excited that my first post for LLC is a new release...and I love ALL the new images!!
You asked and we listened!! We are going DIGITAL!!! All of our images in this release are available as digi stamps!! We can not be more excited to move into this direction. No, we are not going to stop making rubber stamps. We are expanding our collection by providing you with more options for your paper crafting needs. Here you can see thumbnails of all the adorable new images!
To celebrate the release of our new Spring Digi Stamps, we are doing a bunny trail blog hop! Along with the cards created by the Design Team and Guest Designers, you will find some clues (a secret word or two) on every blog. When you follow the order of the Blog Hop and get to the end, you will have collected all of the words to make a sentence. If you didn't get here from Lisa's blog, The Craft's Meow, be sure to head back to the beginning of the hop at the La-La Land Crafts blog so you don't miss a thing! When you are done, you will need to go back to our blog and leave your comment with the completed phrase there (but of course I'd love to hear what you think of the new release and my card right here!)
I used the new Easter Bunny Rosy image. Isn't she just the sweetest? After printing her on whisper white cardstock (the only cardstock my printer will feed!) I colored her in with my copic markers then cut her out with a nestie (do you cut your images before stamping and coloring or after? I'm never sure when I should...curious how you all do it!)
I used some SU! designer paper and new stitched felt embellies along with these great pearl accents and some ribbon. of course, since it was sitting right there, I had to sew on my card as well! That is geting quite addicting.
Lastly, I finished off the inside of the card with a sentiment from my What's Crackin' set from MFT along with a little more DSP. That's another thing I've really gotten into lately - but it makes such a difference when you do it!
So, now that you've seen my card - be sure to hop along to the next stop Kristine at her blog Ink Something. Oh...and remember my clue - Hippity - you'll need it at the end to win the wonderful Blog Candy that Irina has waiting for you!! Have a wonderful Wednesday!
