A Scrapbook Page by ME?? WOW!

I have to admit, I don't often scrapbook with paper anymore having switched over to digital scrapbooking recently, but when I sat down to work with the newest Marci and Luka images (only available digi right now, but rubber is coming SOON) all I could picture is this photo of my parents taken over 50 years ago when they were in high school and going to a formal dance. Of course, no one can FIND the photo now...but as soon as I do I'll be scanning it in to fit onto this page!

Since I know the photos is black and white, I wanted those to be the primary colors on the page. However, I also know that my mom's dress was blue, so I wanted to add a touch of blue. I thought marina mist would work well.

I used some new SU! dsp for the base of the page, then I created my photo layer (the vanilla) with the 2 mats (black and marina mist) and I put those on top of the Marina Mist satin ribbon layered under the lace. I added the satin bow on top (along wtih a little extra narrow vanilla grosgrain) and then added the rhinestone accent as well.

I made the roses for the corner of the photo using the MFT rolled rose dienamics die and some vanilla and marinna mist cs that was sponged. I added some cream pearls to the centers, then adhered them around the upper left corner.

For my stamped images, I printed them on vanilla cs and colored them with my W00, 01, 03, 05 and 07 markers. Then I added just a touch of blue (b93) to both Marci and Luka (see if you can spot his, it's pretty small!) I cut them both out and then created ovals for them using more dsp layered on some Marina Mist cs. Don't Marci and Luka look adorable all dressed up for their prom?

I hope you've enjoyed this...I promise I"ll post an updated version once I get the photo onto this page, and mount it in a frame for my folks. Perhaps it can be their 49th wedding anniversary present in February! (sh...don't tell them, and stop reading mom!)

Here's a page I made commemorating Jackson's first wheelchair using SU!'s My Digital Studio. still loving that program although I haven't shared many pages up here. Perhaps I'll try to share at least one per week, once I'm back home again. Signing off from Deutschland...Enjoy!

Glitter is Snow Fun!

German Phrase of the Day: Gibst du mir bitte die Butter? = Can you pass me the butter, please? Guess that could be useful at Thanksgiving dinner...if I was having Thanksgiving dinner over here! Maybe I'll remember to use it in NJ at my sister's home, since her wife's BIL will be there and he sprechts deutsch.

So...I'm still sick. I spent all day yesterday on the couch or in my bed. This is one nasty cold!! Therefore, I have not stamped, and I didn't even post yesterday...sorry! I was concerned that anything I tried to type would come out as gibberish...since that's how my speech has been! My husband was crinkling a candy bar wrapper in his and and moving his shoulder around. I asked what it was and he showed me so I said "Oh good, it's not a joint" meaning his elbow or shoulder. He of course that I was just loopy from my cold and had accused him of "rolling a joint" something neither of us has ever done (nor have we smoked one...I think we are some of the only people we know who have never tried it!) Oh well...at least I am semi-coherent today! Maybe?

I am finally posting this 6 by 6 page I made last month for my Diva Sister Swap. I started with a 6 by 6 piece of Soft Sky cardstock and stamped Snow Fun across the top with my outline alphabet using Blue Bayou ink. Then, where the letters overlapped, I colored in with a versamarker so that area would be a little darker. Next, I stamped the jumbo snowflake using soft sky ink onto the page. Then...using my glue pad, I stamped a few different snowflakes from Snow Burst all around, and then applied dazzling diamonds glitter. Finally, I tied some soft sky double stitched ribbon around a blue bayou photo mat, and I was done!

Jana scraps??

German phrase of the day: Wie geht es dir? = How are you? (literally means How is it going for you? You can also shorten this to just Wie gehts - pronounced vee gates)

Well, I try to scrap. However, most of my scrapping was done in preparation for classes, and this layout is no exception! This is from Easter LAST year, and I made this layout for a scrapping class I taught. I actually CASEd this layout from one I found on splitcoast, but I'm sorry to say I can't find it again right now.

I used the Word by Word background stamp and cut out different words to use as little "Levi tags" around the layout. I also used the new retired Border Builders set for the bottom (LOVED that set!) The ladies at my class really enjoyed making this layout...although people always seem to worry about direct-to-paper techniques. I guess I was intimidated by them at first also, until I realized you just can't screw them up!! :-)
