Halloween Greeting Card Kid

I just loved this set...and HAD to have it once I saw it in the new SU! catty!! Thankfully, my dealer...err...good friend and stamper in crime Michelle was able to help assuage that need.

I ran the black through with the spider web embossing folder, then used some moonlight smooch to make it sparkle. I layered that on a pumpkin pie card base, then added the scalloped bit across the top which was cut with the Tasteful Trim die. Then I added the narrow grosgrain ribbon.
I colored the main image with my aquapainter and watercolor wonder crayons. I had stamped her with stazon onto watercolor paper...so it was great for watercoloring! Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

The Witching Hour...

The witching hour - every mother knows it! It's that last hour before "daddy" comes home and rescues us from our angelic children who are tossing every toy they own all around the house while screaming at the top of their lungs. You know that time...when you're pulling out what little hair you have left and hoping there's a chilled bottle of wine in the fridge. Now we have Witch Marci to help us get through that last hour, because we won't care how messy the house is while we're coloring her!! :-)
Witch Marci is just adorable, and so much fun to color!! For my card today, I used the great Halloween stack from Basic Grey, along with the matching chipboard stickers, some fun fuzzy spiders and a killer rhinestone spider web.
I really love coloring in these new Marci stamps. They are nice and big (this is a 6 by 6 card!) so that you have lots of open space for all that fun shading.

I finished off the inside too...with some more basic grey paper and a happy Halloween sticker from last year's $pot at Target. Gotta love those good buys!! Have a wonderful Thursday...and make sure you've got that bottle of wine all chilled! :-)

PWC124: Green, Orange and Purple??

Well, when I saw the color challenge for today's Paper Pretties Weekly Challenge I thought "Oh my!" But then I realized that they are perfect halloween colors!

I figured the  Wicked Old Bird set would be perfect, and got busy coloring her in. I then used this week's Mercy sketch for the layout, and my Matilda mini deck of papers from Cosmo Cricket for the various layers.
I punched out the greeting with my spellbinders tag die, and also finished off the inside. Now it's all set to send off to a friend with a good sense of humor!
We'd love to have you play along with us...for all the info on how to play (and to upload your card) head on over to the Paper Pretties blog...YOU could win a free Paper Pretties stamp set for your very own!!

Pumpkin Marci, cutie Pie!

I really love all the new Marci and Luka stamps!! This little cutie pie is Pumpkin Marci! She's alraedy started trick or treating, and has her lollypop to help her keep going!
I colored her with my copics...pretty standard Pumpkin colors, and then added some Basic Grey halloween papers to the card.  These new stamps are so nice and big and fun to color - plenty of room to move your markers around and get the perfect shading!!
I also finished off the inside with a rub-on greeting. Such a nice finishing touch! I hope you all have a wonderful Thursday, and if you haven't been over to check out all the latest Marci and Luka stamps yet...what are you waiting for?? Have fun Shopping!!!

Spooktacular!

It's been a good, but hectic weekend here. There was no school on Friday, so we went to Santa Cruz and enjoyed a lovely day at the beach with friends. I've included a few photos at the end of this post for those who are interested...including a "belly shot." I'm now 29 weeks, so just 11 more to go - woo hoo!!

Here's a card I made a week or so ago with my friend Michelle. I started the card at her house (since it is her stamp set!) and just embossed the main image with black detail embossing powder on glossy white. After getting home, I colored in the windows and grave stones, then went over them and the moon with my versamarker and embossed with clear embossing powder. Next, I sponged on the color - Pacific Point, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, and Night of Navy. I used some of the new SU! Halloween DSP (which I LOVE) for the background, and I embossed the greeting (from the set I have - TAbleau of Terror) with black on Old Olive. Can I just say, I love this card! I hope you all do too!!

Supplies: (all supplies from SU! unless noted)
Stamps: House of Haunts, Tableau of Terror
CS:
Basic Black, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Glossy White, Ghostly Greetings
Ink: versamark, Pacific Point, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Night of Navy

Acc: embossing powder, brads, embossing buddy, heat tool

Here's my beach girl just lovin' the surf and sand.
And here she is playing in the sand with some kelp.
No, that isn't a beach ball...that's my bump! It's getting BIG!!!

Happy Halloween

German Phrase of the Day: Du siehst wie ein Gespenst aus. = You look like a ghost. Ghost in German is pronounced GEH-shpehnst. Another fun word!! :-)

This is the Halloween card I sent to my Diva Swap sister Yvette this month. I had seen a card somewhat similar in my blog travels and decided to create one of my own. I started with some Glossy White CS and wheeled Spooky Skyline with Black Craft ink. Next, I sprinkled on some black detail embossing powder and heat set.

Next step was to create the moon. I used the large circle from Big Pieces and stamped that with versamark, somewhat overlapping the trees. Next, I embossed it with clear ep. The next step was to add some color. I actually did two versions of this card, but the first turned out too dark (sorry Sher...you got that one!) For this one I used Pumpkin Pie, Lovely Lilac and Night of Navy reinkers on an alcohol soaked cotton ball. I simply substituted Lovely Lilac for Elegant Eggplant on this version to lighten it up a little. I mounted the Glossy piece on Basic black, then onto a Pumpkin Pie card.

After I finished that it still didn't look done yet, so I added the Bat from Batty for You layered on Pumpkin Pie and a Black scalloped circle to finish the card off.

Don't forget to enter to win Blog Candy here!! And have a great Halloween everyone!

Supplies: (all supplies are SU! unless otherwise noted)

CS: Glossy White, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White

Ink:
Basic Black craft and classic, Pumpkin Pie, Lovely Lilac and Night of Navy reinkers
Acc: circle punches, scallopwed punch, embossing powders

Happy Halloween, almost!

German Phrase of the Day: Guten Appetit! = Enjoy your meal! This is what is set by every waitperson when you are served a meal...so it is a phrase I learned pretty early (and you can use this phrase tonight when getting dinner for your husband Adelina!)

Today's card was sent to my by my stamping friend Yvette. I LOVE this card. I have a little black cat...so I was really tempted to buy this set. Somehow, I refrained! But I just love the colors she used, and the whole layout of the card. It's one of my favorite Halloween cards!

Yvette is my Swap Sister this month for our Diva's group. I love doing our monthly "Sister Swap" with Diva's because it's a way to get mail over here :-) and a fun way to stay in touch with this awesome group of ladies! And they don't even mind paying the extra postage to ship stuff all the way over to me! They're all awesome!!! In the next few days I'll be showing you the projects I made for Yvette...as hopefully they will have finally arrived!

Here on the detail photo you can see how Yvette didn't adhere the tail down on the kitty, so it stands out a little bit. I just love that!!!

Have a wonderful Day Before Halloween everyone!

TFL!
