Bellarific Friday - gettin inky!

This week's Bellarific Friday challenge was to ink up a Bella stamp that had yet to see any ink. I was lucky because I got a shipment of new (to me) Bellas just 2 weeks ago and I hadn't had a chance to play yet. So yesterday I finally inked up this adorable doggie stamp that I've been dying to use. Aren't they just adorable??
I stamped the image with palette noir ink and colored it with my copics. The background uses some MME Quite Contrary dp. I added some red satin ribbon, and the sentiment (also from Bella) and that was it. I'm into keeping things simple!
Have a great Friday everyone, and don't forget tomorrow is the big Paper Pretties release, be sure to check out all the new stamps on the home page. Oh...and the 50 cent Friday special this week is all Bo Bunny papers are on sale for 50 cents a sheet - wow, what a great deal!!

MFT WSC KISS CPS Sketch

How many acronyms can I use in one title?? That stands for My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club Keep It Super Simple (or Keep it Simple Stupid is how I've often see KISS) Card Positioning System. I made up this card for this week's CPS sketch that MFT is sponsoring using this adorable new little PI Boy and his Dog set. I won this set at the last release party and finally got to ink it up! Isn't his big bald head just the cutest?? My little Jack is finally getting some hair...but this little guy still makes me think of my Jack-Jack.
I kept everything pretty simple, coloring with copics and no extra layering...so I think this should count! Oh...I did add some punched grass though...finally using my new MS Grass punch I was so desperate to have! I used my black mulitliner to add the trunk of the tree to the side behind the cute little dog. I like how the scene turned out!

Have a great rest of your day folks...hopefully I'll be back tomorrow with some more eye candy!

PWC101: Gettin' Punchy

This week Heather challenged us all to get punchy. And we're featuring two fabulous stamp sets, Soakin' Up the Sun and Rainy Day Friends (which are both on sale for 35% off this week!!). Now if you didn't get here from Julie's blog, head on back to Christie's so you don't miss any of the fun!
I decided to use this fabulous palm tree from Soakin' Up the Sun. I stamped it in black stazon on watercolor paper then colored it with my SU! markers and an aquapainter. For the sunset background I just did a basic wash with my ink pads and aquapainter. I stamped a sentiment from the same set...but I've got a great idea of a new sentiment we need - Wish WE were There!

Keep on hopping along to Jackie's blog to see what she's cooked up for us today!

LLWWC36: Altered Embellies!

This week, Maureen has challenged us to take a store bought embellishment and alter it somehow. I decided to use some SU! chipboard that I haven't used yet, and spice it up with some glitter and crystal effects a la Jen Del Muro. Be sure to head over to the La-La's Weekly Wednesday Challenge blog to see all the wonderful creations by the La-La DT. And since Maureen is using Birthday Cake Maya this week, it's on sale for 20% off in the La-La Land Crafts boutique - woohoo!!
I decided to ink up my new Princess La-La this week, and use these beautiful new papers that came in my DT kit this month - aren't they beautiful?? I used copics to color La-La, then cut her and her matting out with nesties. The layout is from Mercy's Tuesday sketch last week (I know...I'm way behind on my sketches right now!) just changed up a bit.
And here are my glittered chipboard flowers - aren't they just so sparkly?! LOVE em!! Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone!

Another Prettie Peek...

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you all are enjoying your weekend as much as I am. Since dh took Friday off, we got to have a 3 day weekend, and last night finally went out to dinner as a family to celebrate my birthday (since dh was in China for the actual day!!) It was just Chevy's, but it was still good, and I even had a margarita - MMMMMmmmmm!
Today I'm showing another of the new sets that will be released on Saturday, May 1st - it's Wheelchair Sophia which I previewed last month. We actually started the process to order Jack's wheelchair this past week, so I've still had wheelchairs on the brain, and actually know a lot more about them now (like how much they cost - WHOOOWEEEE - and what colors they come in!) For Sophia's chair, I went with a neon orange, although for Jack we are getting a cool metallic blue one. I used some more of the Basic Grey Kioshi paper, as well as some great lace and fun new paper flowers I just got.

Be sure to visit Jackie and Wendy to see some more cuteness today!

Prettie Peeks are here again!

Good morning everyone, I'm here with a Prettie Peek for you today of a new set Paper Pretties is releasing on May 1st! This great new set is called What's Up Pussycat? and is so much fun to play with. The sentiment comes separate, so you can stamp any greeting you would like in the little sign...isn't this kitty just adorable??
I only used 3 copics to color this image in...B0000 and R00 with a touch of C1 for some shadowing on my kitty. The papers are mostly Basic Grey Kioshi, with some SU! so saffron and mellow moss tossed in. I cut the image out with my circle nesties, then the matting is a new set of label dies I just picked up this week. LOVE this look!! Be sure to visit Jennifer and Heather both today as well to see some great samples with this adorable new set!

Pretties Weekly Challenge #100 !!!

WOW! I can't believe we're at weekly challenge number 100! Now, since we're celebrating such a big milestone, we have a big sale to go along with it!! And when I say big...I mean BIG!!!! How does 40% off ALL STAMPS sound to you?? To me, that sounds like a pretty HUGE sale!! So...hop on through to see all the lovely creations with this week's challenge, then be sure to hit the boutique and pick out a few of your favorites, ON SALE! This sale ends on Saturday, April 24th...so don't miss your opportunity!!
As usual, if you didn't get here from Julie's blog, head on back to Christie's so you don't miss any of the fun!! Our challenge this week comes from the wonderful Frances, and we are to make a tag, and somehow have polka dots on our project. The polka dots could be on the paper, ribbon, embossed, whatever. It just has to have polka dots. I chose to incorporate the polka dots into the main image itself! I love this Piggy Bank from the brand new Penny for your Thoughts stamp set. This time I decided to color just the polka dots and leave the rest of the piggy white.
I used some SU! designer paper for my tag, and added this wonderful sentiment to the bottom, along with some ribbon. I hope you've enjoyed today's project, and don't forget to go check out the amazing sale to celebrate our 100th challenge! If you'd like to play along, we'd love to see your creations. Be sure to upload them to the Paper Pretties Challenge Gallery along with the keyword PWC100. Now hop along to see what amazing creation Jackie has for us all today!

La-La gets Shabby!

This week's La-La Land challenge is to get Shabby...Shabby Chic! Now, I'm not sure how Chic my card is, but it's certainly Shabby! I used the lovely Mermaid La-La again, because I just can't get enough of her!
I used my MME Quite Contrary paper and roughed up all the edges for my layers, then added some lace, a Prima flower and buttons for a more Shabby look. The main image was colored with copic markers. I just love this mermaid so much...and you can color her so many different ways!!

Head on over to the La-La Land Crafts Blog to see all the Shabby creations the design team has put together this week, and then head to the store where Princess La-La is on sale this week for only $9.60 - a 20% savings!

MFT Wednesday challenge...

Howdy folks...sorry for the long silence...everyone in my house has been sick (except Julia - she's just been BORED!) But before I got real sick I managed to finish up this card for last Wednesday's WSC with My Favorite Things. I also used last week's CPS sketch...again!
I used this adorable little Pure Innocence girl I already had partially colored, and I just added the paper piecing of her jumper. I used some MME paper for the jumper, and the houndstooth is the reverse side of the newsprint paper I used a while back on THIS card. Since I've already made a couple of April Showers cards with the Umbrella Girl PI, I stuck with the challenge was to use a homemade embellishment, and used these crocheted flowers with some corduroy buttons in the centers.
Tomorrow Kim will have a new challenge posted to her blog...hopefully I'll get to play again!!

CPS162 Facebook Friend!

How cool is this?? I'm this week's Featured Facebook Friend over on CPS - what a great birthday present!!
Here's the card I made for this wonderful honor! I really love this sketch, and had fun using one of my favorite LaLa Land stamp and this incredible new MME Quite Contrary paper. I paper pieced LaLa's skirt with the lovely pink gingham paper because, well, you know me! I colored her with copics first, then added the skirt on top. I used Pink Pirouette and Baja Breeze paper, along with the Pretty in Pink corduroy buttons and satin ribbon. All this lovely pinkness just makes me giddy!

I gave La-La more auburny hair today, and of course the beautiful light blue eyes of my daughter. Maybe sometime I'll try to recreate my own hazel eyes - with such big eyes on LaLa you can have a LOT of fun! Have a wonderful day!!

Happy Birthday to...Me!

Thank you to all the Prettie Girls and many of the La-La Ladies for your beautiful cards!! I love them all!! To see the Prettie hop, start at Prettie Mama Christie's blog and hop all the way through - they're all gorgeous! For the La-La wishes, head to the La-La Land blog which has links to Kim, Jane and Elena's cards (masterpieces all!)

Also, many thanks for the various cyber-wishes, a couple RAK's (JenniK and Sony from the MFT Junkies list - thanks ladies!) and to my wonderful friends Michelle and Jane for the wonderful lunch, gifts and cake today. You all have helped to make my birthday a wonderful one!
Now, here's the birthday card my Julia made for me...isn't it beautiful?? She also made it for the Children's Challenge blog current challenge, to use 2 or 3 buttons on a project. she colored all the pieces herself (since she was too impatient to wait for me to get her any scraps to use!)
After I took the first photo she picked it up and held it at an angle and said "You have to take it from this angle too!" so of course I did!

New La-La's are HERE!

It's a La-La Land Challenge Wednesday, and we have some new stamps to share with you! This week Jane has challenged us to "Get Scrappy" and use up all those scraps we have laying around. Now, I'm not a very organized person in general, but after giving away several grocery bags of scraps when moving from Germany, and a many gallon sterlite container of scraps before moving TO Germany, I decided to get organized. So now, I keep my scraps neatly filed and available so that I actually USE them! I'll take pictures of it tomorrow so you can see.

But NOW, I know you ALL are waiting to see the new La-La's we have for you! I won't make you wait any more! Introducing, Mermaid La-La.
In my scrap bin I had some great vellum and other scraps, so I gave her some waves to flit in, and added some chunky glitzy glitter to make the waves sparkle!
Be sure to head to the La-La Land Challenges blog to see all the new releases, and everyone's challenge cards...we'd love to have you play along with us! Just create your own Scrappy card feature a La-La Land Crafts stamp and add a direct link to your project using Mr. Linky.
Have a happy Wednesday!

PWC99: Spring Break - WOOHOO!!!

This week's Paper Pretties Challenge (our 99th...stay tuned for a fun celebration for our 100th challenge!) was issued by Jackie, and she wanted us to celebrate spring break. I'm from Maine, and this time of year we would often celebrate spring beak UP - when the ice breaks up on a lake or river and the water is free to flow again! And what better way to celebrate spring break up than with fishing!! Here's sweet little Snowflake just coming back across the ice with his catch! Now, if you didn't get here from Julie's blog, head on back to Christie's so you don't miss any fun!!
I used a great sketch from the new Go To Sketches from Papercrafts that was shown on Cath's Moxie Fab World blog here.  I thought it was perfect to have Snowflake thinking "Holy Makerel" as he's coming back with his pail full of fish. And he's even got some newsprint to wrap them in when he gets home from October Afternoon.
I colored the image with a combination of Copic Markers and Prismacolor pencils and OMS, and I'm pretty happy with the result. I embossed the bottom part of the image with iridescent ice ep to simulate sparkling ice. I used this great rope to tie around, and cut a paper clip to simulate a hook. I hope you've enjoyed this fun little guy as much as I have. Both Holy Mackerel and Surf's Up are on sale for 35% off this week...so head on over to the boutique to pick up these cuties, after you've finished the hop. Head on over to Jackie's next to see what beauteous creation she has for us today!

Bellarific Friday...finally!

I've been meaning to play along with a Bellarific Friday challenge for a while, and finally got the chance to yesterday! This week's challenge was a sketch challenge..my favorite!
I pulled out this old MiniwagonBella stamp (my Bella's haven't seen much ink since moving back from Germany, OIY!) and went to town. I used some SU! designer paper, punches and ribbon along with Pixie Pink cardstock (did you all see they are retiring a ton of colors - wow!!) and one of the beautiful crocheted flowers from my knitter friend.
This card also works great for the newest I Dream of Stamping challenge, which will be posted tonight to pull out and ink up that stamp you HAD to have that has never seen ink (or at least not for a very long time!) and she definitely qualifies!! Heck...I didn't even have copics the last time I colored a Bella!
Have a happy Friday everyone!

For this week's sketch we're featuring Pulling for You and Beary Best Friend (which makes me happy since I love my little Cooper!) which also means they are both 35% off!!! I used Pulling For You because I think this wagon is just so much fun to color!!
I colored Cooper with my copics of course, and had some fun adding a little mud to his "pocket pants" as overalls are referred to in my familly. I used some more of the great paper from my All Boy stack, and I love it! Now I need a Pirate Cooper to use the cute pirate paper!
Be sure to hop along and see what Jackie has for you all today, and on Friday there will be another great Paper Pretties special!!

LaLa Land gets Sketchy!

This week's challenge from LaLa Land Crafts is a great sketch challenge created by the amazing Lisa Hjulberg. Isn't this a fabulous sketch??
I used the adorable LaLa with Bunny digi image for my card today, and colored her in with copics. For the paper, I used some awesome Basic Grey Gypsy paper that came in my DT package from Irina (She really spoils us!!) I just loved these wonderful happy colors!
I used nestabilities to cut all my shapes, and had tons of fun with this great sketch - won't you try it out yourself? To be eligible for the $10 gift certificate to the LaLa Land boutique, use your LaLa Land stamps or digi stamps and link it up with Mr. Linky over at the LaLa Land Crafts blog and you could win!

MFT Monday on Tuesday

Here's the card I made for this month's MFT Guest Designer contest over on SCS. The challenge was to create an M & M Card (Masculine and metalic!) and I think I pulled that off!
I dusted off Friends Furever (a fun mini set I had to have but had yet to use!) and had fun making use of both images!! I started by stamping the boy hugging his dog on white cardstock twice. Then, I followed Kerry's AWESOME flocking tutorial and ran some creamy caramel cardstock through my xyron, then rubbed fun flock all over it. Then, I stamped the image again on to this. I cut the first stamped image out with my oval nestie and embossed, then cut the dog out of the flocked paper. finally, I colored the little boy on the 2nd white image and cut him out to layer on top of the dog. My nestie cut layer I sponged (with the die still on) with certainly celery and bashful blue, then I went in with a green prismacolor pencil to add some grass all before gluing down my boy and dog. This I layered on another brilliant Blue oval.

For the tag, I stamped the image on white carstock, the colored inside it using my versamarker. I added some sterling silver ep and heated. I let that cool down, then versamarked again and more powder and heated  again. While that was still warm I added one more layer of ep, melted it, then stamped the greeting into the warm ep. Next, I cut the tag out and added the jump ring. I ran the twill tape through the jump ring, and was ready to start assembling!
The finished card size is 5" by 6.5" - a little odd I know, but it worked for me! I used some dp from the All Boy stack from DCWV, along with chocolate chip, bashful blue and brilliant blue. I finished off the inside as well with some more dp and the puppies head stamped on the flocked paper again and punched out. A perfect card for some little guy getting his first dog!
I hope you all have a wonderful day! I'll be back tomorrow with my La-La Land Crafts and Paper Pretties Wednesday challenge cards!

Happy Birthday Sparkle!

Today is Sparkle's birthday. She is one of the amazingly talented ladies over on the LaLa Land Crafts design team, and it's been so much fun getting to know her this last month.
I wanted to use my new Porsha stamp for Sparkle's card, and she was such fun to color!! I made her lips the same beautiful red as her dress, and even added some chunky glitter to her shoes so she could have her own Ruby Slippers - I mean it's a card for Sparkle, right?? It needs to shine!!
Be sure to check all the fun cards the LaLa Ladies made for Sparkle today, and then leave some birthday love for her on her own blog! I'm hoping to be back a little later with my MFT Monday card!!

Happy Easter from the Weavers!

Mojolicious birdhouse!

I finally got to play along with a Monday mojo sketch again...and it was a circle or square sketch (Mojo132.) Now normally, I would take the cowards way and just do a square card, but i decided to be adventurous this time and make a circle card...and I like it!
I of course colored my image with copics...isn't it just a darling little birdhouse?? It's one of the newly released Paper Pretties  digi stamps! And as a digital image, i was able to print it any size I wanted. I actually created a sheet with 3 different sizes to print, so now I'm set for a while with this image, and can use it both larger and smaller!! Since it's almost Country style, I thought my new red gingham from My Mind's Eye Quite Contrary would work well, plus I LOVE gingham! The kraft is some specialty paper that came pre-embossed. I used my nesties to cut most of the layeres except the 2 largest circles which I used my circle cutter for, and I used some SU! ribbon, a PTI button and some linen thread.
Have a wonderful Easter everyone!!

CPS160 and my new JustRite Stamps

Ok...I finally caved. After that amazing blog hop and all those gorgeous flowers, I just HAD to have one of the new JustRite stamp sets My Garden Borders and Centers, and I picked it up at my LSS. Daisy's are my favorite flower, and this Gerbera Daisy just called to me!!
I wanted to keep the card simple like the layout of this week from CPS, and I wanted the card to be longer - but I had to change things up a little when I decided to do the embossing folder. The card measures 4" by 5.5", which made it easier to emboss only part of the front. I used some PTI Color cardstock for the strip and the scalloped matting, and the white is PTI Stamper's Select White. I stamped the flower twice, colored it with V000, V04, V06 and V09 copic markers, and cut them out. The inner bit is on dimensionals to give the card a little more dimension.

As I said, very simple. And hey...fits today's JustRite blog challenge perfectly of anything goes for Good Friday. Have a wonderful weekend everyone! Same some Cadbury's eggs for me!

Paper Pretties has NEW stamps!!!

Happy Release day!! If you haven't already been over to the Paper Pretties website to see all the new stamps, you really should! We have a card showcasing each of the 5 new rubber stamps, 3 new digi stamps and one more preview of next month's Sophia...which I also have right here! Isn't she darling? I must say the timing is a little ironic for me though. Last week, Jackson's therapist broached the subject of a wheelchair for him - and she wants a motorized wheelchair so he can move around independently. As we've thought it over more and more, we're getting used to the idea and agree that probably would be good. So...now I'm waiting for a Cooper on wheels set! ;-)
For my card I used the sketch over at Our Creative Corner and some gorgeous new Kioshi paper from Basic Grey. I added some lovely May Arts lace, SU! satin ribbon, and an MFT button. I colored Sophia in with my copics, giving her an awesome pink wheelchair, and the sentiment I used is from Crafty Emergency. I think I'll save this card for Jack's Physical Therapist - she's retiring at the end of this month - about which we are very sad!
Be sure to go check out all the newly released stamps today, and happy shopping!
