Paper Pretties is sponsoring CPS

So, not only do I have a sneak peek for you today of an ADORABLE new Sophia, but it's also using the latest CPS192 sketch. And because Paper Pretties is sponsoring the sketch this week, you'll have the opportunity to win some Paper Pretties stamps if you play along too!! To see ALL of today's adorable cards, be sure to visit the Paper Pretties blog...there are some great ones!
Thanks Snow Much Sophia is another of my favorites (and I have to admit I have several!!) She just looks so joyful playing in the snow! For this card, I stamped her on kraft cardstock and colored her with my copics. I thought it would give the card a more vintage feel to use the kraft. I also sponged some white ink around the edges of the kraft to add to the snowy feel of the card, as well as adding some liquid applique.
I took a few liberties with the sketch, and instead of adding rings to the side, I added snowflakes! I hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend...and be sure to keep checking the Paper Pretties blog all week for more sneak peeks, with the release coming on Friday! WOOHOO!

Prettie Peek Surprise!

Happy Friday everyone! Today we've got a great sneak peek of a new set coming out in one week! There are 8 fabulous new sets coming out this month, and this is the first peek. Surprise Sophia is our latest Sophia sweetheart all ready to head to a birthday party.
For my layout I used this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge from Karen Giron. I loved this layout, perfect for this little sweetie!
I pulled out my Nana's Kids paper to use with her, and stamped her twice on white and once on the polka dot paper. I colored in Sophia with my copics. After piecing her dress, I also colored and cut out her arms and present to put on top of the dress.
I finished off the inside with another of the sentiments included in this fabulous set, and another strip of the dp from the front. Be sure to head over to the Paper Pretties blog to see all the samples using Surprise Sophia. And keep checking the blog all week long for more peeks!

PWC119: Gettin' Glitzy!

This week's Paper Pretties Weekly Challenge is to create a card using glitter dots, rhinestones or pearls. Since I couldn't find my glitter dots under the pile that is my desk...I settled for some rhinestones!
I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch (pretty much) and my lovely Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety paper to create my card this week. I took a few liberties with the sketch...bit I think it all works! This is one of my FAVORITE Sophia's ever...she just looks so dang happy! No wonder she's called Celebrate Sophia. And with 5 sentiments with her, she'll work for almost any occasion, like this cheer-up card!
We've got a new release of Paper Pretties stamps coming up...so keep your eyes peeled for some Prettie Peeks coming soon! And for now, head on over to the Paper Pretties blog to see ALL of the team's creations, and to upload your own sparkly card for your chance to win a free stamp set!

PWC113: Sophia gets sketchy

This week's Paper Pretties challenge is our monthly Sketch challenge, provided of course by the amazing Frances! We'd love you to play along with us too...just create YOUR card using Frances' great sketch and upload the link to the Paper Pretties blog - you never know, you could win a great stamp set!! Speaking of which, if you didn't start at the Pretties blog, head on back there so you so all the great creations with this months' awesome sketch!!
I pulled out my Off to School Sophia (on sale for just $5!!!) for this month's sketch challenge knowing I wanted to make a card to slip in Julia's lunch bag for her first day back to school later this month. I colored her using my copics (of course!) and used some fun My Mind's Eye dp along with SU! kiwi kiss and pink passion. While my Julia is not a girly girl who loves pink - I think she'll still like this!
I finished off the inside again too (trying to make the time to do that again since I really like the effect!) and included the super fun sentiment that comes with this great Sophia. Don't forget there are still some great deals in the Paper Pretties' Boutique...and keep your eyes peeled for some NEW images coming soon! I am not exaggerating when I say WOOHOO!!! And with our new fast, cheap shipping - you're gonna love it!
Now keep on hopping along to Jennifer's blog to see what amazingness she has!

Another Prettie Peek...

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you all are enjoying your weekend as much as I am. Since dh took Friday off, we got to have a 3 day weekend, and last night finally went out to dinner as a family to celebrate my birthday (since dh was in China for the actual day!!) It was just Chevy's, but it was still good, and I even had a margarita - MMMMMmmmmm!
Today I'm showing another of the new sets that will be released on Saturday, May 1st - it's Wheelchair Sophia which I previewed last month. We actually started the process to order Jack's wheelchair this past week, so I've still had wheelchairs on the brain, and actually know a lot more about them now (like how much they cost - WHOOOWEEEE - and what colors they come in!) For Sophia's chair, I went with a neon orange, although for Jack we are getting a cool metallic blue one. I used some more of the Basic Grey Kioshi paper, as well as some great lace and fun new paper flowers I just got.

Be sure to visit Jackie and Wendy to see some more cuteness today!

Happy Birthday Hoppin' for Frances!

Today is Prettie Girl Frances' birthday, so in addition to our Wednesday challenge, we're hoppin' for her birthday! If you didn't get here from Julie's blog, be sure to head back to Christie's so you don't miss out on a single bit of eye candy today! And of course, be sure to leave some Birthday Love for Frances at the end of the hop!!
In honor of our Owl lovin' Frances, this week's challenge was to be inspired by an owl...ANY owl! And of course, being the big Harry Potter fan that I am, I chose Hedwig!

I'm using Lady Sophia, our sweet little Princess (who along with Make a Wish is on sale for 20% off this week in the Prettie Boutique. For my card, I decided to go the white on white route that is so trendy right now. I used a lot of punches (it is for Frances, our punch Queen after all!!)
I also used lots of glitter, because every girl needs glitter for her birthday! I hope yours is wonderful Frances!! Now hop along to Jackie's blog to see what owl she chose as her inspiration, and the incredible creation she made to go with it! Now shoo!

Introducing I Dream of Stamping

Good evening everyone. I want to introduce you all to a fun new endeavor cooked up by a couple of my good stamping buddies Michelle and Jane. We all wanted to do more stamping and blogging, and thought it would be great to challenge each other to get it going. So...as part of those challenges, we created a whole new blog to host (and post!) them. I Dream of Stamping! (the name came from the fact that Jane had recently been dreaming about stamping)

To kick off this fun new venture, we've decided to host the 2010 Winter Card Olympics. You can read all the details about this fun challenge over on the I Dream of Stamping blog...but here I have my first card for it...the relay of the torch (just in time for opening ceremonies!)I used the sketch from Jen del Muro's Sketch for you to Try, and my Lady Liberty Sofi from Paper Pretties to create this fun, patriotic card. This fabulous designer paper is from Creative Imaginations. It all came from one sheet...but has strips of different patterns - so fun! And I used my spica glitter pens on the flames to give it a little extra spark! Now, head on over to Michelle's blog as I pass the torch to her, and then be sure to come back to see our first challenge (with prizes!) on Sunday. We'll all post our challenge cards to our individual blogs, and you'll see all 3 of them on the I Dream of Stamping blog.

Happy Friday night!!
