Julee's Mojo Monday #9

It's a 2-fer day! I'm so far behind in posting (or you could say I'm so far ahead in my creating!) that I decided I'd give you 2 posts for the price of 1 today! :-)

I made this card for Julee Tilman's Mojo Monday #9 sketch challenge. I love the sketches she creates, but I haven't made one until this one. I created this Tuesday morning after finishing up the cards I had started Monday night with my new Pipoos supplies. You'll see those cards later this week.

I knew I wanted to use my Dashing DSP (almost out!! Good thing that special starts tomorrow!) and some Real Red cardstock. I cut the DSP and sponged all my edges, punched my real red scalloped giga circle and sponged that, and cut my dashing circle with my coluzzle...and even sponged that!

I inked the tree from Season of Joy first in Versamark, then with Wild Wasabi ink pad and a Summer sun marker for the sun, chocolate chip marker for the trunk. After stamping it on whisper white cardstock, I then embossed it with iridescent ice ep to give it some nice sparkle. Then, I cut it out. I mounted it to my dashing circle with dimensionals, and then mounted the scalloped piece with dimensionals as well.

I then used my new Making Memories Snowflake embellishment to add some snow to the card. The snowflakes come with rhinestone brads...making them super quick and cute embellishments. I adhered that with a pop-up glue dot so it would be about the same hight as the tree.

Lastly, I wanted to add a greeting, so used the Merry Christmas sentiment from my MFT Home for the Holidays set and punched it using the Word Window punch from SU!. The greeting is a little longer than the punch, so I trimmed the paper to 3/8 inches wide, then stuck one end in to round it with the punch, leaving the tail end of the strip out. I used a brad to anchor it onto the card.

Thanks for the fun sketch Julee!! LOVE it! Don't forget to enter to win Blog Candy here!!

  3. This is so cute, I had to sit here and make one before I did anything else today! Mine is slightly different using your inspiration, I hope you're flattered that you've been CASEd. When I post it on my blog I'll link it to your original creation. TFS
