Happy Wednesday everyone! I can't believe it will be 2010 in just 2 more days! It's our last full day here in Florida, so we're relaxing and packing - 2 things that don't usually go together!
As usual, we're hopping this week so head on back to Christie's blog if you didn't arrive via Julie's place! For this week's challenge, Jules asked us to create a journal for recording our blessings in 2010. While I'm not much for recording blessings, I did have a notebook that needed a cover! My little guy Jackson was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy (CP) earlier this year. And while he's a wonderful happy, loving baby, he is struggling with his movements and coordination. We created this binder to keep all of his medical reports, insurance information, thereby notes, etc so that I could have everything in one place when we go to appointments or have meetings about his progress. This binder has been left plain for almost a year, so when I saw this week's challenge I knew I wanted to finally create a cover for it using Cooper. I used this Crate Paper Baby Bee collection I got in the boutique while I was still pregnant, and cut Cooper and his mat using my nesties, then I cut out the letters with my SU! sizzix dies.I'd love to see what you've come up with for this challenge. And by playing along you could win a $15 gift certificate to the Pretties Boutique! Just upload your journal or notebook using your paper pretties stamps to the Weekly Challenge Gallery by Tuesday, January 5th at 5pm PST and use the keyword PWC84. Now get on over to Jackie's blog for the next stop on the hop!!

MFT Pure Innocence
I have to admit, I fell in love when I first saw these adorable little girls, and since I finally bought them, I haven't been able to play with them NEARLY us much as I want to!!! However, when I saw the challenge for last month's Favorite Guest Designer contest I quickly designed a plan!My friend Michelle had recently received a luminary in a cool swap she does with one of our online stamping friends. I thought that would be a fun thing to make...so I stamped my little girl onto some vellum and colored her with my copics. the luminary itself was easy to make (this one used 2 pieces of cs, 3.75" by 5.25 inches. The luminary is 3.5 inches by about 5 inches tall (I punched off the top using a new edge punch!!)I colored in the white bits of the image using my white gel pen, and then used my nesties to cut the whole, and to create a border for the opening. Next, I added a little polar white flowersoft around her feet and on top of her hat for snow. Lastly, I added the "Jo-Bow" that Joanne Basille has been inspiring us all to make!Next I created the matching card. It came together much the say the luminary did, except this time I paper pieced the little girls jacket and hat. I wish I had layered the designer paper on some red cardstock, and there were a few other things I could have done to "step it up" but I was getting close to the deadline so I just needed to finish.I have to say, I love how this set turned out!! I hope you've enjoyed seeing it.

Merry Christmas Rudolph!
Merry Christmas! We're here in Florida enjoying a warm Christmas with my parents this year, but I wanted to share one last Christmas project with you all today. Here is a photo of the 24 little Reindeer I made using SU! sizzex dies and punches. Cute aren't they? I got the instructions for them from from Stamping Inspirations here. Look around her blog, she has some of the most inventive punch and die cut art I've seen, and she shares instructions!!!I made one of these for each of Julia's classmates (and her teachers) as well as 2 siblings of her classmates. I was actually surprised I got them all done!!
I've also officially resigned from Stampin' Up! so I won't be doing any more SU! Friday posts, but you'll certainly still see plenty of SU! stuff on my blog since I will always love their products, and now my former downline will be my supplier, er...demonstrator! :-D
Have a wonderful Christmas wherever you are, and I'll be back soon with more pretties to share!

Christmas La-La
A quick post to say Merry Christmas Eve everyone!e Here's a card I made a few weeks back for one of teh LaLa Land challenges. LaLa Land Crafts is a new stamp company founded by a local friend of mine, with some very sweet stamps! You should definitely check them out.The challenge for this card was to use punches, which I did to create the Pointsettia accent. Isn't she just adorable? I love how this card turned out with the embossed background and the punched flower...and of course cute little LaLa herself!! I even added some liquid applique and glitter to the furry areas of Lala's outfit for some extra dimension and sparkle!!Have a wonderful day today everyone, hopefully all the work is done and you can just sit back and relax (now if only that were true for me!)

Prettie Wednesday Valentine
Well, it's almost Christmas. Done with your shopping? Me neither! I did get most of the presents wrapped though, and am now writing this from my folks place in Florida! Hope you all have a wonderful holiday!!
As always, we're hopping for the challenge, so head back to Julie's blog so you don't miss any fun. This week's challenge was issued by...ME! I want you all to make a valentine without using ANY red or pink!!! That means Sophia can't be wearing red or pink either!!!! (you can only use pink on her cheeks if you like!) I'd love for you to play along with us. Just upload your creations to the paper pretties weekly challenge gallery, and you could win a $15 gift certificate to the Pretties Boutique. Cool, huh??I made this tall card with our sweet little Cooper with his Beary Best Friend. This is a perfect card for my sweet little man Jackson. And there is no pink or red anywhere, but I do like the saffron heart under the sentiment - thanks for the wonderful idea Michelle!!
Now, hop along to see what Jackie has for us all, and get to work on those Valentines in between wrapping presents and cooking that Christmas dinner! :-)

SU! Friday - More Christmas Cards!
A few weeks back Michelle and I finally got to play with the double embossing technique everyone has been so excited about. This is where you use a template to leave an open space inside your embossed paper...and it looks REALLY cool!! The first place I saw this was on Patty Bennet's blog (she's amazing, isn't she?) And since then it's been everywhere! My white layer is shimmery white cardstock run through the big shot with the petals aplenty embossing folder. I then stamped the holy wreath in the center (leaves inked with old olive, berries with real red) then stamped Merry Christmas inside that. This is layered on Old Olive and a Real Red card with some old olive taffeta ribbon.
So, how are YOUR Christmas cards coming along??

Prettie Birthday wishes to Kristy!
It's Prettie Girl Kristy's birthday today....Happy Birthday Kristy!!! We're hopping around Prettie Style today to celebrate...so if you didn't start at Prettie Mama, Christie's blog head on back there so you don't miss any of the fun!I decided to make Kristy a cake for her birthday, and since it's a December birthday, what better than a beautiful Christmas Cake? I couldn't resist using some old Basic Gray Fruitcake papers and last week's Mojo Monday sketch (of course, I noticed after I finished and looked at the sketch again that I got the ribbon in the wrong place - oh well!) I used the cake from our new Time for Cake set. I love how you can decorate the cake however you want.I added some bling to the flower centers, punched the sentiment from Make a Wish and finished the card off. I hope you like it Kristy!! Now hop along and see what Jackie's got for you all to see!

SU Friday post
Hi everyone, hope you're having a wonderful Friday today. I'm back with an SU! card to share today, one that I made while playing at my friend Michelle's. I have to admit I've never really liked trying to use stencils (too much work) but this was quick, easy, and beautiful!I used Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive ink and a sponge to stencil the ornament and swirls...then I spnged a little champagne mist on for some shimmer. I inked up the sentiment stamp with True Thyme, adding a little red for the berries. I also sponged some Thyme around the edges and adhered the ribbon before mounting the 4 1/8" by 5 3/8" card onto a quarter sheet of true thyme.

PWC81: Prettie Scrappy Wednesday
Welcome to another installment of Prettie Wednesday. This week, Christie has challenged us all to make a 6 by 6 scrapbook page. Ever since getting My Digital Studio from SU! I haven't done any traditional scrapbooking, so this was really fun for me.
Now remember, this is our weekly challenge hop, so if you didn't start at Christie's blog, head on back there because you don't want to miss any of the scrappy goodness. And, if you'd like a chance to win $15 to spend in the Pretties Boutique, be sure to upload your own page for the challenge to the Pretties Challenge Gallery before December 15th at 8pm EST with a keyword of PWC81...we'll announce the winner in the Paper Clip the next day.For this project I wanted to try out our newest snowman set, Joyful Heart. Isn't he fabulous?? So much amazing detail to color in (or not as your preference may be!) I only used 5 different Copics to color him in (sorry, i don't have the numbers handy!) and boy did I get lucky to have some new DP that matched perfectly!I added a photo of Julia that was taken our first winter in Germany at a nordic skiing race they hold in the city every year. Now, it doesn't usually snow much up around Dusseldorf, so they actually manufacture all the snow needed for the race, as well as plenty of snow for the kids to play in including some skiing, sledding, and more! I finished the page off with one of the sentiments from this great set, and an old SU! felt snowflake topped with a button and some embroidery floss. Now hop on over to Jackie's to see what wonderfulness she has for us all today, and when you reach the end, get to work on your own scrapbook page!!

Prettie Peek Time for Cake!
...he'll say "Are you married?" we'll say "No, Man. But you can do the job when you're in town."We actually sang that song yesterday morning driving back from the Christmas Tree Farm we visited up in the Santa Cruz Mountains. We often have to sing for Jackson otherwise he gets very unhappy in the car, and that song (Winter Wonderland in case you didn't recognize it!) has been on my mind ever since we Pretties decided to repeat using a popular song as inspiration for our Prettie Peeks! And since we love giving things away, we'll have the same rules for prizes as last month - leave a comment on a card from the pretty peeks in the pretties gallery and we'll pick names for you to win the new releases. This card uses the new Time for Cake set, which is so much fun to play with...and makes gorgeous wedding cards!! You can find this card HERE to comment on!!Each day a few of the Prettie Girls will upload their challenge cards based on that song. Inspirational Prettie Wednesday
Welcome to Prettie Wednesday. This week's challenge comes from the Prettie Mama herself, Christie! She's given us some inspiration to use to make our cards this week...see for yourself! Oh...and if you didn't start at her blog head on back so you don't miss any of the wonderfully inspired creations this week - along with some peeks at our upcoming release!!I tried to use a lot of the colors I saw here...but I had a pre-conceived notion of what I wanted to create. You see...I helped (by suggestion merely) in coming up wtih one of the sentiments included with the Lady Sophia set we're releasing on December 1st, and I really wanted to showcase that sentiment!!! Of course, when creating the card, I ended up having to put the sentiment INSIDE the card, and forgot to take a photo of it. The frog is from Pullin For You if you didn't recognize it!The inside says "You have to kiss a lot of frogs to find your Handsome Prince." I just love that line!!! I'm not happy with the layout of the card...but didn't have time to rip it apart and start over, so this is what you get! I masked the frogs to stamp the pile...and then cut out the one on Sophia's hand. Everything is colored with Copic markers (I'm slowly adding to the colors I have - thanks Jane!!) with some Spica glitter pen on the light blue areas of her dress and hat. The card base is Sky Blue (retired SU!) with Rich Razzleberry and Bermuda Bay helping out.Be sure to head on over to Jackie's to see what she's got to show you today. And the peeks will be continuing through this fun holiday weekend of the new sets we'll be releasing on the 1st. And - you can win the sets!!! Be sure to visit Christie, Heather and Jennifer tomorrow to see their peeks - I'll be back with my next on Saturday!
Oh, and don't forget to enter to win a $15 gift certificate (which you could use to buy those new releases!!) by playing along with us and uploading your own challenge card to our gallery with the keyword PWC79 before Tuesday, Dec. 1st at 8am EST!!

SU! Monday?
Well...I've been missing out on my SU! Friday posts lately, but I actually do have cards to share!! So, here's an SU! Monday post instead.I've been loving all the beautiful 3D cards made with this set and punch and had to get in on the action. This was pretty quick. I had stamped a bunch of images before loaning this set to a friend, and actually put some to use! I used a glue pen and some Dazzling Diamonds to spice the punched ornaments up a bit. This actually uses 3 punched images, but I think you could use twice that if you wanted a fuller ornament! The DP is old retired Christmas Thyme paper layered on Bravo Burgundy with an old olive layer under the ornament.
Have a wonderful day everyone...and don't forget to check out the Holiday Extravaganza sale that starts today. If you don't have a demo...go to my good friend Michelle for help!!

Prettie Wednesday Twisted Color Challenge
Happy Wednesday everyone! If you can make it through today, you've survived more than half the week! Woohoo!! This week's challenge comes to us from New Prettie Girl Heather Lee-Reppen. She wants us to make a card using black, white and red, but we also had to use glitter somewhere. After you've seen all of the Pretties Girl's creations for this challenge its your turn to try it out! See the end of my post for the details on how to play along from home! If you didn't get here via Julie's blog, head back to the Mama herself, Christie so you don't miss any of the fun Prettie creations today! For my card, I used the recently released Sassy Shoes set. I love all the different prints for the shoes, and had to make snow leopard shoes for my daughter! I also love using this flower on the shoe to add some glamor...and this is where I added my glitter. This is a kick-stand card, so I put some white cardstock on the inside to write on, and doodled around the edges to finish it off.
Oh yeah...and don't forget the SALE!!! Paper Pretties will have be offering 35% off all Thanksgiving and Christmas themed stamps beginning on Thanksgiving (Nov. 26) until the 30th. Happy shopping!

Prettie Wednesday Blues
This week is MY turn to challenge everyone.....which I love! Since winter is fast approaching, and I LOVE blue holiday cards, I challenged the Prettie Girls (and you of course!) to make a card with all blues. You can use white and black as neutrals, but otherwise everything must be blue. Remember to upload your creation featuring a Paper Pretties stamp to our Challenge gallery with a keyword of PWC77 and you could win a $15 gift certificate to the Prettie Boutique! As usual we're hopping today, so be sure to go back and start at Christie's blog if you haven't come here via Julie's.
I used the sweet new Beary Best Friend which was just released on November 1st. Isn't he just the cutest little guy?? I still haven't got quite the right copics to do my little man's red hair on Cooper yet, so he's a brunette like his mama today. I colored his striped PJs with just one color of copic, but went over the darker stripes multiple times. And then I HAD to flock that adorable little teddy bear of his. The ribbon on this card is actually from one of the many wonderful gifts we received after Jackson was born, so it is super special to me...but it just matched this card so perfectly I had to use it!I hope you all have a wonderful day, and keep on hopping along to see what Jackie's created for us all today. I'm pretty sure we did NOT choose the same stamp today!! ;-)

It's a Prettie Birthday Hop!
Happy Birthday Jennifer!! We just got ourselves some new Pretties in the last few weeks, and we love them all!! And today is new Prettie Jennifer's birthday, so we're hopping around Prettie-style to celebrate!! The hop started at Prettie Mama, Christie's blog, so head back there if you didn't get here from Julie's place! For Jennifer's card, I used a brand new set of punches I bought this weekend at Mike's - the new Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page punches. It's a pair of punches (a corner punch and an edge punch) that work together to create a totally punched piece...doesn't this look fabulous?!? I LOVE it! And of course I love our little Always in my Heart Sophia with it!! Isn't she adorable with her little layered T, striped tights, and big ole' boots?? I thought she could send some birthday love to Jennifer...along with her star bling!
Since the punched piece takes up so much space, I had to put the greeting INSIDE the card, so I photographed that too! The sentiment is from the Make a Wish set, which has some great sentiments along with that adorable little candle-blowing Sophia.
Be sure to hop along to Jackie next, and at the end of the hop, leave plenty of birthday love for Jennifer!!

Prettie Wednesday Birthday Hoppin!
Welcome to another Prettie Wednesday. Today we're hopping in celebration of Heather's birthday, since we just missed it last month! Happy (late!) Birthday Heather!! For the challenge this week, we're using a wonderful sketch from Danielle (our last from her for now) and I'm using the adorable new Bubble Time Sophia, December's Stamp of the Month. As always, we started at the Prettie Mama's blog, so if you didn't arrive from Julie's, hop on back to the beginning!I used the dreaded Orchid Opulence again - I know, big shock there!!! Then, a layer of Pink Pirouette, then some regal rose which I stamped using Sassy Circles with versamark and embossed with my true favorite, iridescent ice ep! For the main image, I stamped Sophia on some white cardstock with Palette Noir ink and colored her with my copics. I added some crystal effects to her bubbles, then cut her out with my nesties labels die. I tied the ribbon around and popped the image up on top. Last was the sentiment which I cut to 3/8" then rounded the two ends with my word window punch. Now hop on over to Jackie's to see her take on the sketch, and the card she created for Heather!! Be sure to play along for your chance to win a $15 gift certificate to the Pretties Boutique! Upload your card to the challenge gallery with the keyword PWC76 by Tuesday, November 10th at 5pm. Below is the full list for the hop in case you get lost along the way!

Snowflakes Peek
Why couldn't I have had this line LAST month? LOL For today's peek, I have the line Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes. A little tricky paired up with Crafty Emergency, huh? Well, I have a funny story for you then.Back when I was in college and home for winter break, I was driving my car from my parents home into the "big" city of Bangor about 45 minutes away for a date with my boyfriend. It was snowing (no big because when you grow up in Maine you learn to drive in the snow properly!) but a large amount of slush had built up in the middle of the road. Needless to say, I hit the slush and went off the road. I wasn't hurt at all, just had to walk a ways into town to call for help (this was before cell phones ya know!)
Fortunately, my brother was home and he came to my rescue. Now, how the ambulance fits in is he is actually an EMT, and currently works as a dispatcher for UMaine police and emergency services. So see...it all comes together, right??
To further tie the snowflakes in, I used some paper from an old retired SU! scrappin' kit, which I further distressed with my nail file. Oh...and do you like the windows? I decided they need to shine!!
Now be sure to go to the Prettie Gallery and post a comment on this card telling me your favorite thing about it and you could win this set for FREE!!! Oh...and then go check out Jackie's and Christi's blogs for their peeks today!! See you at the party tonight, 5pm SHARP for us westerners!

Prettie Peek - Girls in White Dresses
It's finally time for MY Prettie Peek for the November Paper Pretties release! Since our Pretties are some our favorite things, our peeks will be based on the lyrics to the song A Few Of My Favorite Things. Each day several of the Prettie Girls have been uploading their challenge cards based on a new lyric. If you stop by the Pretties Gallery and leave that Prettie Girl a comment on what your 'FAVORITE THING' about her card is, you'll have a chance to win the new set that has been used in that challenge. The contest will end November 2nd and the winners will be posted on the Paper Clip. You can find the link to the specific cards in the Paper Pretties gallery on each blog post. Today Christi and I are sharing peeks - so be sure to go comment on my card here - and check hers out while you're there!!!My lyric for today is Girls in White Dresses, and I get to share this wonderful new set Dreamboat with you. Isn't it just Dreamy?? I love this 50's themed set, and thought it would be fun to make a card for my parents using it, since it really is their era! (my mom just had her 50th high school reunion this summer!!)
I colored the image with my copics, leaving the dress white of course! I also used some shimmery white paper embossed with the swirls cuttlebug folder, and stealing into Christi's line, I used a blue satin ribbon! :-) Just covering all my bases you know!! Be sure to come back tomorrow to see how I deal with snowflakes on noses and eyelashes!

Prettie Simple Wednesday Hop
OMG! Have you seen the Prettie Peeks so far this week? There has been some beautiful eye candy out there on the Prettie Girl blogs...so be sure to look for the peeks while you're hopping around this Wednesday. My peeks (apart from todays!) will be here on Saturday and Sunday, so be sure to come check them out!!
Today's Wednesday Challenge hop starts at Prettie Mama Christie's blog, so if you didn't come to me from Charmaine, hop on back to the beginning! Jules has challenged us all to make a clean and simple card this week. Now this is one challenge I'm totally up for - you know me, I LOVE clean and simple, since that usually also means QUICK! Now to play along, our challenge to you is to chose any one of the layouts the Prettie Girls are showing off and make a card with it. As always, please upload to the Prettie Gallery in the Weekly Challenge directory, and use the keyword PWC75.For today's card I used the soon to be released Sassy Shoes set. I just love this adorable set, and all the different kinds of shoes - not to mention the sentiments! I colored my shoe in with Copic markers, then went over the outside part of the shoe with my versamarker and embossed with iridescent ice ep (my favorite!!!) The rest is pretty self-explanatory!! Oh, and I did voluntarily use the dreaded Orchid Opulence along with my Elegant Eggplant - not sure what came over me but it just seemed to work! 8-O
Don't forget our Prettie Party is on the 1st (as always!) in the Prettie Forum starting at 8pm EST. I hope to see you there!!! Now head on over to Jackie's blog to check out her clean and simple layout today.

Prettie Wednesday Halloween Treats
Welcome to the weekly Prettie Challenge blog hop! If you have come here via Charmaine then great, read on. However, if you didn't - head on back to Christie's blog so you don't miss any of the fun!!
Frances challenged us all to create a Halloween Treat - could be a box, bag, lollypop cover - whatever we wanted! I thought it would be quick and simple to make these little treat holders...where you can staple little bags of anything inside the cardstock!
I had to use Pick of the Patch again since I so love this little Cooper. I'm thinking I need to find a pumpkin costume for Jack this year so he can be a Jack O' Lantern!!! My Glorious Green is 8.5" by 3.5", scored along at 3.5", 4.25" and 5" to fold up to create the holder. Then I added the Gable Green at the top to fold over and hide the top edges. It's all held together with the ribbon, and then the stamped and colored Cooper is popped on top!
If you'd like to join in our fun, create your own Paper Pretties Halloween Treat holder and post it to our Gallery with the keyword PWC74. I can't wait to see what you create! For now though, hop on along to Jackie's blog...I'm heading there now! Oh...and don't forget what comes after Halloween...November 1st and a new Pretties Release!! WOOHOO!

Barely, but not quite Ruby Prettie Wednesday
Hello Prettie fans. It's time for another weekly Prettie Wednesday challenge. I loved the different takes on last week's sketch challenge, and I think this week's color challenge will be interesting to see too!
As usual, the hop started at Pretty Mama Christie's blog, so if you didn't start there head on back (and while you're there, be sure to check out the Design Team call she has posted - don't you want to be a Prettie Girl too??) However, if you just arrived from Charmaine's blog, you're in the right place! Christi challenged us all to create a card using Barely Banana, Not Quite Navy, and Ruby Red. Wow...I can't tell you the last time I used banana....I'm more of a saffron girl!I wanted to use this gorgeous new set Happy Birth Day Lamb I haven't had a chance to play with, especially since Prettie Girl Jules just had her beautiful baby boy this week! I can't wait to head back to Maine next summer to see this adorable little guy, along with Jules of course! So, this card is for you little Owen!!I used my SU! markers to color the image in, then added a little shine to the lamb with my clear spica glitter pen. The patterned paper is from my Recollections Autumn mat stack.
To play along with the Prettie Girls, just create your own project using these three colors and a Paper Pretties image, then upload it to the Weekly Challenge gallery using the keyword PWC73. I can't wait to see what you all come up with. To get some more ideas, hop on forward to Jackie's blog, and have a great day!
