German Phrase of the Day: Du bist sehr geistreich. = You are very witty. I thought this phrase would be appropriate for today's card.
I really love this new set from My Favorite Things! I got it in my huge box from mom a couple weeks ago, and just finally got to play with it last night. I thought of this card back when I first saw some of the sneak peak images from the design team...and I still chuckle about it! I have a feeling DH will want me to make up a few of these for some of our friends this year! I masked the feet, stamped the log and flames, then stamped again on some scrap paper to cut out the log and interior flame to pop up in front so his feet really look like they are in the fire. I think I need to add some stockings to the mantle as well though.
I haven't printed the phrase for inside the card yet...as I still haven't decided on the final one. My husband had some GREAT ideas last night..."Good thing I'm wearing my asbestos undies!" "When the house fills up with smoke they'll call the fire department to get me out of here" and my favorite, "Note to self: Move this house to the Naughty list!" Now, my question to you - what do YOU think should be the phrase for this card?!? Leave me a comment on this post with YOUR phrase, and when my hubby is finally home again on Saturday I'll have him pick his favorite. The winner will get a RAK with a few fun goodies inside. I'll be having another Blog Bon-Bon giveaway for hitting 50K hits soon...but I thought this might be a fun warm-up!

Cute card and great colors. I can think of several that wouldn't do for this family oriented site - so I will have to go with "Oh darn, I forgot to bring marshmellows tonight!"
ReplyDeleteHi Jana! I like the naughty house one too. Maybe "Hmmmm too many cookies already!"
ReplyDeleteMy DH spent 6 years in Germany while his father was in the military-I like to practice your phrase of the day on him! lol He's Hawaiian so that makes for an interesting blend of words-he thinks I'm crazy! lol
The card is so funny!! I'm not very witty today though so maybe Hot feet?? I like your hubby's ideas! :)
