It's an SU! Day!

German Phrase of the Day: Wir sind jetzt seit sechs Jahren befreundet. = We have been friends for six years now. That's how long I've been purchasing Stampin' Up! products...I've been a demonstrator for over 4 years now. WOW! That's a long time, huh?

I decided since I spend so much time featuring other stamp companies, today I was going to come home to my roots and show a couple of SU! only cards I made recently.

This first card uses the beautiful new Always stamp set. I really loved this set on sight, but it was the sample on page 186 in the Spring catalog that really sold me. I saw a few samples with this color challenge from almost 2 weeks ago using this set, and since I finally had it mounted I needed to jump on board iwth my own. I stamped the bird with Brilliance Graphite Black ink (I know, not an SU! product...so sue me!) then embossed it with black ep. I stamped the background flower with River Rock ink and then mounted it on river rock before attaching to the Basic Black card. I finished it off with some narrow organdy black ribbon and a small piece of silver cord along with the greeting. A super quick, simple card.

The second card is a fun, easy St. Patty's day card. I have always loved St. Patrick's Day (I do have a little Irish in me!) and my favorite meal to cook is Corned Beef with Cabbage for the big Green day. However, over here I can't GET Corned Beef. So...I made some when I was in Florida last month. Yummmy!! You have to boil the beef in a mixture of Guinness beer and water for many hours (along with the spice packet that is usually included) then add potatoes, carrots, and other root veggies for the last 30 mins. THen, remove your beef to let sit, and add your cabbage and continue to cook for another 15-20 minutes. Voila! Super yummy Irish dinner.

Is it any wonder I had to buy the new St. Patty's day set? I love this little guy! I used Wild Wasabi ink and paper, and mounted it on some Chocolate Chip cs. I then tied some striped Wild Wasabi ribbon around my main image and attached it to the shamrock stamped card. A VERY fast and simple card, but I like it!

Have a wonderful day everyone, and don't forget to join me and the rest of the Prettie Girls Sunday night at our Stamping in your PJ's release party!! WOOHOO!!

  5. great minds think alike! well, I made a lot of SU! stuff today but didn't post it yet. It was fun going back to my roots too (I've been a demo for 5 years) and I just got my Always set yesterday (mainly because of Beate & Angie Tieman) I LOVE your bird card - your Leprechan card is cute too, but I never could warm up to that set. You did great with it!

  8. Hi Jana
I tried to upload my comments yesterday from my blackberry, but didn't work this time. Anyway, love your cards ... but it was the description of the Corned Beef that makes my mouth water. We just got home from our trip to MA and stopped and picked up the corned beef to make next weekend! Wish you were here to share it.
    Love, N&F
