German Phrase of the Day: Die Aussicht ist fantastisch. = The view is fantastic. Well, the view may not be fantastic here in general...but at least I can see some blue sky! That's always nice.
Today is Jan Marie of Flourishes LLC's birthday. She's having a big celebration, and so I had to make her a quick birthday card this morning. I only have O Christmas Tree from Flourishes at this point, but I figured I could still use it for her birthday card. I stamped the present in Lovely Lilac ink all over the Lovely Lilac card first. I just love that little present...it's really quite pretty! Then, I sponged my Lavender Lace dsp and layered it on some Lavender Lace cs. I stamped the happy birthday image from the SU! Sale-A-Bration set So Many Scallops with Lovely Lilac onto Lavender Lace, then again with the candles and sentiment colored with markers onto white cardstock. I punched the white with my 1 1/4" circle punch, then attached it to the scallop punched larger piece with dimensionals.
I tied some silver organdy ribbon around the narrow strip before attaching it to the card, then I popped the scalloped piece on top. Lastly, I added some gold stickles to the candle flames to make them sparkle a little. I was following CPS sketch #53 - I LOVE it!! I actually made a second card with that sketch that I"ll try to post a little later.
Anyway...hope your Birthday is great Jan Marie! Alles gut zum Geburtstag!
