Beate's Sketch and SCS Color challenge

German Phrase of the Day: Kannst du mich spater abholen? = Can you pick me up later? I love the word spater (supposed to have the 2 dots over the a, again, I'm lazy!) it actually rhymes with later - well, so long as later is said with a good New England accent that is! So, it's pronounced SPAYta. Such a fun word to say.

Today's card was for Beate's weekend sketch challenge. I decided to use the colors for the Tuesday color challenge over to SCS, and while I like the colors, and the layout, I'm not thrilled with the card. I think my favorite part of the card is the large text boxed image. I inked it up with summer sun, then I used the chocolate chip marker in the air art sprayer and spritzed on some chocolate directly on the stamp, then stamped it. Doesn't it look cool?!? Gotta play with doing that some more with those stamps...I really like the effect.

Speaking of Papertrey Ink stamps, have you SEEN the newest releases yet?? OMG!!! I HAD to have the spooky sweets set. And all my daughter's cards are going to have the "From your favorite little pumpkin" sentiment stamped on the back of them!! We called her pumpkin a lot when she was little, and so for her first Halloween home, she was dressed as a pumpkin. TOO cute!! (maybe I"ll post the picture for you all to see!) And for her first birthday, we have a beautiful photo of her with a pumpkin the size of her birthweight, and one the size of her at her 1st birthday. I just love that photo because it shows just how far she came in the one year. From just under 2 pounds to 16+ in 12 short months!! Ok...I'll post that photo instead.

Anyway, be sure to head over to Papertrey Ink today to check out their newest releases. And for the curious, I bought...Spooky Sweets, Beautiful Blooms, Borders & Corners {square}, some circle metal tag rims, the small window coffee bags (both colors) and 1 jar of primas. Yeah...I had a fun shopping morning!!! I'm waiting to order the tins next month...and those I'll ship direct to California to pick up when I'm there! :-)

  1. Love that card and your little pumpkin!

  2. I love Papertrey Ink and their new release is amazing! Your picture is adorable. I love the little tag on your card. TFS!

  3. Jana - I love that photo of your little one with the pumpkins! What a great idea. My oldest child was just under two pounds too and I don't think he was quite 16 lbs at one, I'd have to look back to see (he's 8 now). Thanks for sharing the picture.

  4. So pretty Jana!! Your daughter is adorable - perfect lil' pumpkin! :)
