So, I never heard from my Blog Bon-Bon winner Sharon (who recommended the book I'm currently reading even!) so it's back up for grabs! This time, I've added a little more. At Real this weekend (well, Saturday, since you can't shop in Germany on Sundays!) I found these adorable felt flowers and butterflies, along with these cute little crystal flowers. Not sure how I'll use them all yet, but they looked like fun, and were reasonably priced!...so a few of each has been added, in addition to the Lindt mini pralines, a paper-shaped big blossom in your choice of color, a spool of stitched ribbon from Mike's, some vellum metal edged tags, and of course, my favorite card! Oh, and I'll also punch some giga scallop edges circles, ovals and squares for you! :-)So, to enter, leave a comment on this post telling me what your favorite sweet treat is. Mine is a tie between brownies (almost any kind, but I do like chocolate with walnuts best!) and Whoopie pies. A bonus entry for anyone out there who can tell me what a whoopie pie is as well!! :)

Hmm sweet treat! I don't have much of a sweet tooth, so my sweet treat would not be a sugar-laden edible rather a sweet treat to me would be a couple of child-free, work-free, responsibility-free hours to engage in my favorite addiction (stamping). Have no idea what a Whoopie is!

Hmmm my favorite sweet treat would have to be hot Apple Crisp with vanilla ice cream. I actually don't like chocolate so I always vote for the fruity desserts and candy....and I think a whoopie would be similar to the southern version of a moon pie, which is two cake like tops with whipped topping in the middle but the moon pie adds a custard/pudding in the middle....am I close?
ReplyDeleteMy favorite treat............that would have to be Cadbury Easter Cremem Eggs. They are my ultimate weakness. As for Whoppie pies--not available in Canada, but----I think they are two cookies with creme in the middle. And I mean huge cookies! They look yummy!

Those felt flowers look yummy! Well I would have to say my favorite sweet treat is sour kids candy right now. As for a whoopie pie...two round pieces of cake with a sweet creamy frosting in between them....Wikipedia is my best friend!

Ooh, oooh, ooh, I know, I'm from Maine! :) Whoopie pies are my DH's favorite - 2 chocolate (or other kinds now) cake-like cookies with lots of creamy white frosting in the middle - scrumptous!! My favorite treat would be . . . hhhmmmm jellybeans! Thanks for the second chance.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea what a whoopie was but they sound wonderful if they are as julie described. My favourite sweet treat is Banoffee waffles ( warm waffles with vanilla icecream on top... along with sliced banana and lots of toffee sauce) mmmm... can feel a fridge raid coming on :)

I love almost anything (depending on my most recent craving)...lately, the Purdy's shop does have these fab peanut butter chocolate bars which I never say no to! I remember another blogger who was addicted to whoopie pies (they look like a giant oreo) with a creamy, almost marshmallow center.

ReplyDeleteNice blog candy!I make my own version of Whoopie pies,cookies made from cake mix then add icing to the top of one an add another cookie on top off that.My favorite is to add mint flavoring in the icing.Which brings me to my favorite treat any chocolate with mint,all time fav. is After Eights.

My favorite treat would be extremely dark chocolate with raspberry centers! And it's been so long since I've had a whoopie pie - they are so good! Love the center especially! Just a large cookie with creamy, marshmallowy middle - I can't seem to find them in the stores anymore.

Thanks for offering blog prizes! My favorite treat is my grandmother's homemade chocolate pudding. She got the recipe from her mother-in-law, and it has now been in our family for 5 generations. It is most heavenly when still warm with salted peanuts and fresh whipped cream on top. I make it every time my son comes home from college or for any special celebration.

ReplyDeleteWOW! I think that whoopie pies may be a New England thing! These have been a favorite since I was a litttle girl. I just got one of my favorite treats last night at the local farm stand. "WHOOPIE PIES" are a pure treat of marshmallow creme or my favorite sweet cream frosting sandwiched by 2 disk like devils food cakes. This farm stand also sells the whoopie pie made out of pumpkin cake ...the best part about the latter choice is that my kids won't ask for a bite because they are not not old enough to appreciate the unique flavor. I am so glad that you asked about whoopie pies..MUST get more!!!!

Boston cream pie...which is like a whoopie pie...well, not really....it is yellow cake layers with vanilla custard in between the layers and chocolate glaze on top. But, as with anything sweet, if there isn't any dark roasted coffee around, I don't have much of a sweet tooth. Gotta have my coffee with my dessert.

My favorite treat this time of year is a pecan egg. Yummy with all that nougat in the middle and covered with pecans. A whoopie pie is twoo large cookies with cream icing in the middle covered with a chocolate coating, I think.
