PWC99: Spring Break - WOOHOO!!!

This week's Paper Pretties Challenge (our 99th...stay tuned for a fun celebration for our 100th challenge!) was issued by Jackie, and she wanted us to celebrate spring break. I'm from Maine, and this time of year we would often celebrate spring beak UP - when the ice breaks up on a lake or river and the water is free to flow again! And what better way to celebrate spring break up than with fishing!! Here's sweet little Snowflake just coming back across the ice with his catch! Now, if you didn't get here from Julie's blog, head on back to Christie's so you don't miss any fun!!
I used a great sketch from the new Go To Sketches from Papercrafts that was shown on Cath's Moxie Fab World blog here.  I thought it was perfect to have Snowflake thinking "Holy Makerel" as he's coming back with his pail full of fish. And he's even got some newsprint to wrap them in when he gets home from October Afternoon.
I colored the image with a combination of Copic Markers and Prismacolor pencils and OMS, and I'm pretty happy with the result. I embossed the bottom part of the image with iridescent ice ep to simulate sparkling ice. I used this great rope to tie around, and cut a paper clip to simulate a hook. I hope you've enjoyed this fun little guy as much as I have. Both Holy Mackerel and Surf's Up are on sale for 35% off this week...so head on over to the boutique to pick up these cuties, after you've finished the hop. Head on over to Jackie's next to see what beauteous creation she has for us today!
